Communicating the Stories of Colour in Science:
Formaldehyde testing in consumer products through colour measurement

The Company: Attogene

The Project: Formaldehyde testing in consumer products through colour measurement

The Need: Rapid, accurate and affordable colour measurement tools.

The Solution: The Attotector Detection Kit + the Nix Spectro 2 Spectrophotometer; creating a portable, durable and accurate way of measuring colour (without paper colour cards) and improving formaldehyde detection capabilities.

To improve formaldehyde detection capabilities, Attogene teamed up with Nix Sensor Ltd. and their Nix Spectro 2 Spectrophotometer. The Spectro 2 is a low-cost, portable colour sensing device which is capable of determining the precise colour of any solid, liquid, or powder sample.

By wirelessly connecting to a customizable phone app, the Nix Spectro 2 provides a powerful, user-friendly way to solve any colour problem. The colorimeter has traditionally been used for a wide range of scientific and quality control purposes in many different industries such as paints & coatings; food & agriculture; building materials; and plastics. When paired with the Attotector kit, the Nix Spectro 2 removes the guesswork out of colour matching to the paper colour card – meaning the user can be confident that the precise formaldehyde concentration is determined every time.
