Hamilton start-up disrupts colour industry and ranks #64 on Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list
September 27, 2019
HAMILTON, ONT. – Nix Sensor is pleased to announce it has placed No. 64 on the inaugural Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies. The list ranks Canadian companies on three-year revenue growth. In total, 400 companies made the ranking this year.
“The growth that our company continues to witness is due to many factors,” explains Nix founder and CEO, Matt Sheridan. “The biggest contributing factor is the remarkable talent we have on our team. Our drive and passion for innovation, product development, and industry improvement propels our company ahead of our competition. Our agility is a massive benefit to us over our competition and our team’s eagerness and skill truly comes to an advantage.”
Nix is using this talent to disrupt the color industry, specifically the paint industry, which is historically an underdeveloped space.
“Nix is able to support this space with new technology that improves workflow, customer experience, and most importantly, ROI. These innovations have led us to become industry leaders,” says Sheridan. “As we work closely with field experts, our knowledge base deepens, allowing us to develop ground-breaking hardware and software solutions that help reimagine and shape the industry.”
In the past three years, Nix has expanded their product line, creating opportunities for new business in different industries and allowing the company to work with large paint retailers across the globe.
“We have immense pride in the fact that our team has built Nix from a Hamilton start-up to world leader in digital color sensing equipment,” says Sheridan. “Our patented technology spans across a plethora of industries, opening up countless opportunities for future growth and development.”
Canada’s Top Growing Companies ranking program aims to celebrate entrepreneurial achievement in Canada by identifying and amplifying the success of growth-minded, independent businesses in Canada. It is a voluntary program; companies had to complete an in-depth application process in order to qualify.
“The 400 companies on the inaugural Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies ranking demonstrate ambition, innovation and tremendous business acumen,” says Phillip Crawley, Publisher and CEO of The Globe and Mail. “Their contributions to the economy help to make Canada a better place, and warrant commendation.”
The full list of 2019 winners, and accompanying editorial coverage, is published in the October issue of Report on Business magazine—out now—and online at tgam.ca/TopGrowing.
